I never cared for Nancy, for her smug, know-it-all, just-say-no hypocrisy. She was not an admirable person and did a lot of damage to this country.Still...She had to watch as her husband slipped into the horror that is Alzheimer's. She loyally stuck with him and did what she could over a period of years. I've had to deal with a relative with Alzheimer's and I tell you that Nancy must have gone through absolute hell many times over. Her grief at her Ronnie's funeral was real and deep and I cannot imagine how anyone watching it could remain unmoved.She is an old woman now and can harm no one any more. Surely you can find it in yourself to pity her in her suffering or at least not kick at her when she's down.
