I care.And while I feel art is important, I am probably closer to McCain on this one than I am to Obama.This sentence I found interesting: "Rome said Obama was the first presidential candidate to have a national arts policy committee. Artists not only are being used as part of the campaign but also to further art policy.""The last two words are the ones that caught in my throat. Art policy? Shall we have art legislation as well? A Federal Bureau of Art? An Art Czar? That's just the kind of fertilizer that helps the government grow.I guess I'm just kind of riffing here, but I do hear a little voice inside that tells me Art is important--too important to be left to the federal government.
