I really started appreciating Lennon just before he was killed (I was 14 at the time). The depth of his lyrics was a lot to try to process for someone who hadn't really experienced anything yet in life, but I still felt like there was something there.

His death affected me a lot, and 28 years later I still feel like the musical landscape would be much different today had he not been taken when he was.
