This situation is so disturbing, I haven't been able to sleep well recently.  Apparently the Fur "industry" in China is, if anything, growing.  The animals suffer terrible short lives and horrendous deaths including being skinned alive!   And, dogs and cats are being used for fur, not to mention the large Dog Meat procurement already in existence in China and much of SE Asia.  Reading about Korean dog meat "farms" made me sick.   Here's a few links below.

The answers are not forthcoming, but there is a faint flicker of light with some of these organizations. In all probability consumption of dog meat is not going to stop in China, SE Asia, Korea and Phillipines, due to cultural entrenchment, but the cruelty needs to stop at the very least.  Only through education, and enlightenment can the everyday people in these countries appreciate the cruelty of the situation, and try to change their ways.   I don't have an answer but I've given money to these organizations to help them in their quest to put pressure upon their respective Governments in order to pass effective legislation against these atrocious practices. 

Can you just do this: ?

1. The Animal Saviors petition (above) is harmless and well intentioned...they won't spam you and only send you ONE Email thanking you for signing...no money involved..no solicitation...please sign it. 

2. I've given money to IAKA (the Korean site), and usually donate to ASPCA, IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) and the like.  Maybe find it in your hearts to give a little cash to some of these folks..search the web, there are many to chose from.

3. For God's sake DON'T WEAR or buy FUR!! Or buy any products with fur..even "faux" fur, might be dog or cat, if it came from China.  If you read the expose Dying for Fur (on the Swiss Animal Protection site), you'll understand why.
