Saw the movie tonight, finally. Took our six year old, with whom we read the book. He also liked the movie. See it in 3D if you can as the artwork (mostly stop motion animation - don't make 'em like that anymore) is gorgeous. And there's a cool They Might Be Giants song in the soundtrack.Transparency: my brother Josh was one of the painters. He dedicated about three years of his life to this baby, and I'm really proud of him. It's been a long (sometimes semi-itinerant) road toward this, and I think it's a real achievement. If it does well enough, the Laika group in Hillsboro, Oregon may get a green light to do another one. It's at $40 million in three weeks, so I'm guessing that with DVD and foreign earnings, it'll get beyond its 70-90 million budget. That bodes well.Ian McShane does a hilarious Russian accent.Curious what anyone else who's seen it might think.
