"Spinning" is for those who fail to see, or admit to, the truth. The truth is this deficit is obviously not good and is a huge issue, and will be a huge issue going forward.

Far be it for me to spin BUT; please consider the following;

1) The on going costs related to 9/11 must be huge

2) Trying to eliminate the threats of Al Qaeda and the Taliban was pricey

3) The recent action in Iraq wasn't cheap either.

Add 'em all up and throw in a tax cut (which will hopefully stimulate the economy) and we've got ourself a great big deficit.

I wonder if Gore were President would the deficit be as high or if there would be a deficit at all? Personally, I believe we'd be in the same situation no matter who was at the helm.
