(First published when I was about a year old! Written around 1965, and almost nothing has changed in human understanding and interaction since? Are you fucking kidding me!?!)

I’m not sure why I hadn’t taken an interest in reading John Keats, The New Romans, until now, …but I suppose it’s just a matter of having not bumped into in on a shelf as I did late-late last night. I have been reading it all morning, though, and I know now, with absolute certainty, that there is NOTHING I can say…, or have said in recent years, that has not already been written into a decent novel by smarter, more worldly men.

Same world, different decade, more people, more waste, more rust, two prevailing sides to the argument---the asinine side still in charge and no less glad to be a bully (pissing it all away for profit/political gain), and seemingly intelligent civic-minded people continuing to enable it

[shudder, sigh]
