Yeah, there were The Doors.  & I must have listened to Pink Floyd (Animals, Wish You Were Here, Meddle, ..Dark Side.., etc.) & Black Sabbath (Master of Reality, Black Sabbath, Paranoid) a thousand too many times (& so many others that were glad to fuck up a worthwhile head; it was the ‘70s, our parents were in a world of their own and we didn’t go home until the streetlights came on).

My point with The Godz was more a spoof on the times.  I had been listening to the radio on the way home from somewhere the other day, Gotta Keep a Runnin came on … and I chuckled … and thought about the day. Can’t really believe I remember, but I do because right about the same time (on a rainy early evening) is when three girls (all older than me but we got into a conversation inside …and then outside the Y for some reason and began to hit it off, lucky moment in the life of a relatively fresh pube recipient), two sisters & their cousin, “drafted” me to “judge” the three of them in a (‘70s era) “kissing contest.”  Pretty girls, city girls, wily girls on a whim, and so I gave it my all. Turned out to be a pleasurable night, just a lotta necking…but heady stuff at the time. (I think they might have hoped I would take it farther but, although I did feel kinda cocky at the time, I was probably a little bit in shock, as well, and certainly not uh...urbane enough to move on the do.)

I never got into The Godz.
