Icon Pro-death penalty? Then read this article...David Grann's Trial By Fire

I have to admit - the logical part of my brain is anti-death penalty, but for mainly two reasons I see a need for the death penalty. One is that it does provide a huge bargaining chip when it comes to trials (though I would imagine so would a sentence of life with parole or life without parole) and the second is, there are some people in this world that should not walk amongst us.

After reading this article, to me, it is very clear that the state of Texas has executed an innocent man and this incident probably shows that unless something is changed in the US, then the death penalty should probably be abolished.

The most infuriating thing about this article is the information to exonerate this man was available before his execution, but a very small number of people who could have made a difference chose to ignore the information (sorry, one of them was not Bush, but instead his successor, Perry).

Still, I implore people to read this article.
