He opened in Seattle the other night for Aimee Mann (seems like it should have been the other way around) and did a show probably nearly identical to what you saw and heard in NH. He only played an hour and no encore.

Bill Kirchen opened for Nick's solo show last year and same deal: they didn't play together at all though Bill has played on several of Nick's recent albums. Bill used to be the guitarist in Commander Cody's Lost planet Airmen.

Still & all, Nick Lowe delivers a master class in singing and songwriting. there are few his equal. Glad you got to go.
