Well, let's be honest here, the nominations for this years prize had to be in by February 1, 2009 which means that Obama was nominated for the Peace Prize for what he did before becoming President. Unless we are to think that his nomination was for how wonderfully he handled his inauguration, I think it is fine to question what exactly he won the prize for.

I think to be fair, we should look at this in an honest way. Is it a good thing for the United States he won? Sure it is and I don't have a list of the other people that were nominated but I am certain there were many others far more deserving of a "Peace Prize" than Obama. So, "Hurray for our team!" as Mr. Vonnegut might have said but I think the quote at the bottom of all my posts still applies here.
