It was interesting reading the various criticisms of the current musical output by Rock Hall of Fame members. Around the time that all of those rock legends were getting together to celebrate themselves, I took in a show by a Boston band that is no longer even a going concern (though they reassembled for this 32nd anniversary show). Perhaps only Reg will even recognize the name. The band, The Stompers, seemed to be on the verge of nationwide recognition during the late 70s/early 80s, but it wasn't to be. Anyway, I had a simply magnificent time with this thoroughly obscure outfit, the members of which all have day jobs, families, AARP solicitations, and prostate woes (yes, they discussed them). They played with passion and a whole lot of love for each other and their fans. Sometimes the best rock and roll is way, way off the beaten path (if only for one night).

I imagine many of us here were raised on 60s AM radio and all the hooks, harmonies, and hope that could be squeezed into a 3 minute song. Lend an ear to this local outfit and be transported back...
