okay, maybe it's been dealt with before on the board, but what's the one db tune you keep coming back to? which one resonates most strongly after all of these years? i'm sure there's more than one, but if you had to pick only a single song...

now that i've started writing i feel myself tending towards more than one, but i'll anyways take a bite at my own hook: hello mary, i must say, i've put on more mixed cds than any other db song besides born for love, pc's dead, the waiter, nothing's gonna bring me down, swallowed by the cracks, stranger, i could go on, but i said i wouldn't and i won't... there's something about hello mary which strikes a chord in me, perhaps the carveresque narrative, or a nostalgic yearning for a former love or perhaps even the simplicity of a time when i was younger than i am... if i were a writing for a music magazine or summat, i'd be able to put it more succinctly... curious to know, david, if you're feeling either glib or generous, what inspired this song... and, yes, messy, i'd like to hear your pick... as well as reg, sjl, ed, andrea, david, al, randym, pkj, jeff, don, mick, eugene, herring, peter, cassandra, db, etc... or not...
