Smaller matter but parallel with regards to the condescending use of lives & livelihood… (Certainly NOT new news, but if it IS occurring...well…shit.)
I met a guy down the road a piece ..a neighbor of a friend actually ..who was sitting in his livingroom with his wife and daughter last year or so. They on the family sofa ..and he in his wheelchair---he’s a veteran of the most recent foreign war (over hydrocarbons & noir backroom handshake deals between uh.. dickchains & other such rootintootin’ighfalutin’ bushwhackin’ fuckthumbs with impunity). …Lost the use of his legs ..`for his country`. Yeah, unlike too many of those always talkin’ shit about kickin’ ass & takin’ names, he actually did that said risky, rash, passionate, id-noble, & foolhardy thing: signed his name on the dotted line, laid down his guitar & picked up an M-16. But I digress..liberally..as you know. Anyway, he’s having the best possible after dinner moment under the spoiled circumstances ..when there is a knock at the door. His wife answers. A fellow introduces himself (& those not present whom he represents), claims several phone calls have been made, presents this young veteran and his family with a document: …& Explains to the honorably (medically) discharged corporal that because he did not complete his full term in service, he did not earn his $3,000 enlistment bonus, and thus is legally indebted AND OBLIGATED to pay it back ..or learn jack-fackin’-sprat about alternative means of being exacted. Thanks for your time in service. Oh, beautiful, for spacious skies, ..for amber waves…of arrogant hypocrisy & dismissive disdain oh...poop…. ………tomorrow’s another day
