Outrage no longer blows lids off. It simmers and oozes out between tightening grooves, or loosening grooves, leaving lids on, pitchforks hanging in the barn, politicians harumphing, wall street bankers hoarding, and we, well, we wander and wonder and worry and wish soneone else would do something to change things back to when we didn't, when Hugh Hefner described the revolution that was coming, when Hendrix and Joplin and weed provided the rails we rode on, and the GI Bill enabled a middle class to rise and raise kids and dad's income to buy cars and boats and tickets to take housewife June Clever to concerts and movies or otherwise watch Ed Sullivan introduce Elvis or the Beatles, when assassinations shattered the sixties and war a campus at Kent State and a Savings and Loan scandal sent men to prison, when gas prices tripled, interest rates doubled, and wages began to stagnate after Reagan broke the aircraft controllers union.

Taxes take their toll but to flat-lined wage earners hate-driven OPEC crude oil prices and exorbitant domestic interest rates bleed the middle class slowly to death.

Clinton repealed Glass-Steagle

The curtain raised, and the play we're caught up in today, began. And we, well, we wander and wonder and wish someone else would do something to change things back to when we didn't.

I can tell you this. A helluva lot more than 90 million people need to vote.
