Happy Thanksgiving ALL (Our first `together` as a

family since ’07. A counted blessing..)

[a prayer] The commercial aspects of Thanksgiving have always been wrapped in underhandedness as with so many things. & very little if anything between the Christians & 'the savages' went well, so please lets not get all squishy about any of that either. But us Americans don’t really spend enough time giving solemn thanks for our countable blessings. I mean, really ceremoniously deeply fasting and journeying and lying prostrate before the greatness of the cosmos in earnest appreciation for what was once and still kinda is extraordinary about this human experience in the company of Earth’s forests, mountains, oceans, & all manner of flora and fauna. There are those who’d glad destroy it ..and us, for that matter, all for the bottom line of he who dies with the most extravagant toys and legislations wins. BUT MOST of us would do just the opposite, or thereabouts, and we do tend to lean towards conservation and consideration and relative decency from day to day, in a meaningful exercise of get up and get on with something in the company of good people and everything else that comes with our present territories. The true spirit of balance that was said to be a strong mannerism and focal point of the hunter-gatherer-gardener-caretaker Native People of this land still remains in most of us..deep down..waiting to rise up and begin to sustain something more wholly meaningful than Master & Servant to the little tin god machinations. Maybe it’ll take more generations. Maybe we’ll never get out from under thumb. But you in your little circle and us in ours can maintain what we still have in us that makes humankind not suck. That’s it. Lets NOT SUCK for Thanksgiving. Thanks for the blessings. Really, THANKS.
