Sad to say it was announced today that one of the great Californian singer-songwriters is suffering from inoperable lung cancer. Like so many who have been had family and friends visited by the bear at the screendoor that is cancer, I can only recommend not letting the bear in the house. If at all possible. His past two records have featured some wonderful songs--I Was in the House When the House Burned Down, Life'll Kill Ya, You're A Whole Different Person When You're Scared, Genius, etc.
