Renters had left several Coors tallboys in the grass. Mowing, I found these, and dutifully placed them in the back porch refrigerator alongside my dad's beers. Later, I asked him if I could have the beer I had found, and he said sure, thinking (as he later told me) that I meant a single can, 12 ounces, that kind of thing. But no--these were three tallboys that I poured into the largest glass mug in the house (a heavy piece of substandard crystal with the words "go for it" emblazoned on the side, which I had won for selling the most keychains in the seemingly endless round of fundraising at my school).Sipping that beer through a straw, I watched the world turn woozy. Oh to go back to those days again and have my best beer still years ahead of me.
