The ONLY reason our govmnt can even claim debt is because it has been legislated LEGAL to embezzle, comingle, & otherwise in every possible creative cracker way, to misappropriate funds out of the fabled treasuries & into the hands of 400 guys & their favorite schmedleys. There is no debt, ONLY horded money in the walled safes of GIANT ASShalves. This is the richest country in the universe.
