Why is the show not appreciated by others in your line of work?  I mean, it is tv but the science and committment are beyond reproach (at least as far as entertainment goes)...and why is this a shock to "right wingers"?  You or the show?

I'm in the arts and feel vaguely embarassed --having just spoken to a friend and former roommate who deals with adolescents who have been abused and discarded but still finds a reason to have hope (as well as two adolescent sons of her own.
