David Owens of the New Yorker has written a fascinating, short piece on sinkholes. What was so interesting was while sinkholes are kind of seen as minor inconveniences (except for the poor guy who was recently swallowed up by one), these things are actually quite complex and have a much larger meaning than most people apparently realize.

Secondly, I just saw a concert with Joe Bonamassa on the Palladia channel called An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House. I'm more familiar with his more rocking blues, but I watched this show and was in awe. He was encircled with all these guitars and would play a song or two alone and then would slowly add people onstage with other instruments.

As I sat there watching it, I was just filled in awe of people like this that are so talented and wondered what it must be like to possess a talent like that. Then I read up on him, which only adds to the awe of this man in his middle thirties.
