I have to say we've been stuck in this terrible cycle for some time now of
our government constantly doing the wrong thing at the exact wrong time. It
seems that whatever decision that needs to be made they do the exact opposite
of what they should do.Sadly many of the things I thought of Obama before we elected him president
have proven to be true...he is a mediocre mid-level bureaucrat that has
neither the savvy nor the fire to hold the job he does and will mainly just
get out of the way when called upon to do so. To be more blunt...I thought he
was a guy that could be bought and sold and for the most part the same people
that had their hooks in the last guy have their hooks in this guy. You know I watched the videos Dan posted from The Daily Show and while they
were very funny and also somewhat informative the real big moment comes not
when the gun advocate moron makes stupid remark after stupid remark but when
the guy that works for Harry Reid just blatantly admits that the key aspect
of being a politician is to get reelected. To protect the caucus. To water
down or kill legislation that you are pretending to back if you know it will
harm your chances of reelection. I mean the guy does not even seem to think
when he says it there is anything wrong with it...because that is the
attitude there. That's party politics at it's finest and most destructive. Of course Marc probably breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that because
it may have finally dawned on him that there are no elected politicians in DC
that want to enact stricter gun laws never mind take anybody's guns away. It
was all just bullshit to pretend they actually wanted to do something.Of course most of us knew this but for Marc that was probably...like...the
voice of the Almighty speaking to him.
