I recently took in this double bill here in New Hampshire. FT, as the opener, was only given 45 minutes but he
made the most of them. I'm sure he converted a few of the Isbell crowd. Jason, on the other hand, a first-rate
singer and songwriter with songs that really cut to the bone, didn't translate all that well in a live setting. Just
my opinion but I'm sure others would see it differently. Also, I’m watching a netflix film called CBGB which stars Alan Rickman as Hilly Crystal, the venue’s owner. It’s
not a documentary but a somewhat comedic take on that legendary bar in the Bowery and the great bands
that sprang from it: Television, Ramones, Talking Heads, Blondie etc. It’s not all that great a film but it’s
interesting to learn a bit about American punk rock history and see actors in place of all of those musicians. Here's the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scW0Dqims9cPeter T.
