So, I did a little headphone/earbud research. There are some good, basic articles out there about sound and these items. Sure, to some it might be grades school level, but I'm a novice, but now am enjoying the knowledge. In the articles I read regarding quality listening devices, the main theme is the most important single aspect is : DRIVERS (of course, it gets more involved than that - size of drivers, what a driver can handle and so on). Most economical ear buds come with single drivers in each ear, while the piece stated very high end models come with SIX in each ear. I have had a decent pair of Shure ear buds, but they only have one driver. Today I received a very inexpensive pair of ear buds that have dual drivers. WOW.....just WOW. The difference was amazing. I played the song Season of the Witch by Donovan and was hearing stuff I had not heard before. The same with Lou Reed's A Perfect Day. Shelby Lynne's Telephone was absolutely beautiful. The best way I can describe it is to compare it to a color photograph and 3-D image of the same color photograph. An audible 3-D image for the ear. Now, one of the very surprising things was these ear buds I bought were just under $30. And the other night, I found a pair of $99, triple-driver ones, with rave reviews and ordered them. They haven't arrived yet......
