Agree or disagree. I used the quotes in a descriptive sense.
It was very obvious that Mr. Kristof views the growth of religious faith in this country as a step backwards, and that he considers those who embrace faith over science as somehow less enlightened than his exalted self. Did he actually use those words? No. But I dont recall the last time that I heard any politician or columnist tip thier hand in that way. Mr. Kristof (and the NY Times) has a long history of christian-bashing, this is no secret to anyone other than those who do not wish to see it because it undermines the premise that Fox News is the only "biased" (my quotes :) news venue out there.
How convenient it is that those on the left have Fox News to blame for the new rise of conservatism in the country. It saves them from having to confront the idea that nobody agrees with thier flawed ideas and change them. Why do that when it is all Bill O'Reilly's fault?
