It was a real treat the other night to see this Aussie legend in Cambridge. Only in America, can you see Paul in
such intimate quarters. I'd guess Club Passim may have had just over 100 patrons. Still, Paul, slide guitarist
Charlie Owen, and Paul's two daughters on background vocals, made for a wonderful evening. This was not
the standard PK offering as it included a few Shakespeare sonnets set to music (he has a new album devoted
to them), some fine covers of Cole Porter, Stephen Foster, and Townes Van Zandt, and of course the gems
that the faithful were hoping for (Careless, To Her Door, Deeper Water, How To Make Gravy, From Little
Things Big Things Grow). The backstage photo and quick conversation capped a wonderful night out. The
only downside was that another legendary band, Midnight Oil, was just across the Charles River playing. And
I couldn't be in two places at once. Just wondering if Kathryn or Big Al have seen this incarnation of PK?Here's a somewhat obscure PK song that I love. Roll On Summer, Roll On!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52R6ZDlcfFwPeter T.
