So, Donald Trump on Twitter has now fully admitted that the Trump tower
meeting was about colluding with the Russians, while they were criminally
attacking this country and our election system and following Trump's direct
requests for Russia to criminally hack his opponents and steal information. Now, to anybody that's been following this, none of this is a surprise
except the fact that Trump has now admitted that his campaign was colluding
with the Russians. We can only assume the reason Trump himself has now said this is because his
legal team has been saying it for a while now and that it does not matter
that they colluded because "collusion is not a crime" which is not actually
true. What they mean by this is something I said long ago here, that "collusion"
is not what they will criminally charge someone with because there is no
charge of collusion...however, collusion is part of other criminal charges
like conspiracy to defraud the American public and aiding and abetting the
crimes committed by Russian intelligence to steal information from Trump's
political opponents and the opposing political party. These are serious
crimes and even Marc should be able to admit here that this is disgraceful
and obviously criminal activity undertaken by Trump, his children, and
campaign staffers and that it should cost Trump his presidency and at least
land some of his children and staffers in jail. So, now is the time for Marc to start chanting "Lock him up! Lock him up!"
as we have real criminal activity that in a perfect world would land Trump
and several tied to him in jail. Trump's rather stupid claim when he admitted he and his campaign were
seeking to collude with the Russians all along is "This is legal and done
all the time." which again is not exactly true. Yes, campaigns do in fact,
and we all know this, do "opposition research" not only on their opponents
but on themselves to dig up dirt to see what is out there that could hurt a
candidate or campaign. This does happen and campaigns pay for this research or outside supporters
of a campaign pay for it and if they do it, it is noted as a campaign
expense or contribution. So, in other words somebody paying for an
opposition research dossier on a political candidate is legal and above
board...as long as the expense is tracked and you are above board about it.So, what Trump is saying is done all the time is something like the Steele
dossier, nothing unusual or illegal about that. That dossier was begun as
opposition research by a Republican on Trump as an opponent, then picked up
by a supporter of the Clinton campaign who continued to fund it once the
Republican gave up on it because Trump was obviously beating his Republican
opponents. So, Trump is correct. This is not illegal. What is illegal and what should
be viewed as traitorous behavior toward the United States is intentionally
meeting with Russian spies to collude with them to influence an American
election and defraud the American people as well as specifically requesting
hacking political opponents to steal information and property to
specifically do damage to others in order to benefit yourself. This is most definitely criminal and should be prosecuted. Trump and his
campaign did this in the open and behind closed doors...and they have been
caught and have said as much. So, because Trump and his team have no legal defense for what they have done
their strategy all along has been to essentially muddy the waters as much as
possible by making all kinds of distracting noise. This has only been aimed
at the voters to try to prevent them from turning on Republicans in the
midterm elections. I mean if his voters figure out that Trump has been misleading them all this
time and Republicans have been working against them under the giant smoke
screen of all of Trump's dumb distractions for the last year plus of his
idiotic presidency...well...those midterm elections should be painful for
them. Rick Gates I believe will testify today in the Manafort trial. When he does
it should be very, very ugly for Manafort. If Gates does testify today, this
is going to be a big news day.The media, quite obviously, is not as Trump says "the enemy of the people"
as they right now are the only hope of informing the public as to how badly
Trump and all of the people working for him and those in the House and
Senate that support him are betraying this country. What I think would be the top of the page stories about all the corruption
Trump has brought to DC in his massive expansion of "the swamp" and
destruction of so many of our institutions and utter annihilation of
regulations that protect the public are at present buried by the FACT that
Trump betrayed the United States and all it stands for in his horrific union
with Putin and Russia. We have to hope that Marc and those like him are paying attention and
understand the situation but what we need even more desperately than that is
for our House and Senate to act to rid us of the disease of Trump...and we
may be approaching that...maybe...
