Well, as to how long it will last, my guess is not much longer as it is a wildly unpopular and stupid move designed to do nothing but distract people from much larger issues and accomplish nothing.

So, it is a costly waste of time. How long does Trump want to continue it? Well, for him as long as it eats up time in the news cycle but I don't think much past January 6th or 7th. If he continues the shutdown beyond that it will be surprising considering that Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are the ones that got him to do it.

Not the first time Trump has pulled an idiotic and costly political stunt...remember sending unarmed troops to the border to dig latrines and lay down some razor wire for absolutely no reason? That one was fun.

How much money will he get for the wall? None. The Republicans controlled every branch of government for the first two years of Trump's presidency...did you miss that? The "wall" is a FAKE project and everybody knows it except Trump's base.

While the Republicans owned the government they passed ZERO legislation for wall funding. NONE.

Why?

Because nobody wants to waste money on building an imaginary Trump wall. In fact the Republicans have openly admitted the Trump "wall" has always been a joke that never would or even could happen. It was just something Trump used to rile up his base. It was never intended to be done.

Now Trump does not even call it a wall...because there was never going to be one.

It is "steel slats" or "fence" as additional fencing in some areas was approved back during the Obama administration.

So, two questions for you, Pat, and I hope you will answer them.

First, why should you and I give any funding for a wall when Donny said Mexico was going to pay for it?

Did you ever really believe there was going to be a wall built?
