I can't recommend this person, group or whatever called Songpickr enough.  Overall it is very discriminating when it comes to acts I might like (not a lot of junk).

Then of course, if you plug the performer into YouTube you get another thread of recommendations.  It turns into a labyrinth of sub-cultures of music.  (Hell, I had no idea of how vast of a segment of modern-day purveyors of 50's rockabilly is out there).
