I don't want to put things down to that. I'll tell you something that has happened though that I think makes a huge difference... Between FOX News, talk radio, and a group of truly horrible politicians...well...they have made elected office a horrible thing to be a part of. You are going to get smeared in so many ways and nonstop if you run for office now it is not a job that any sane person would want.
And we see we have all kinds of insane elected officials. Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunes, Mitch McConnell, of course Trump himself...these are all people that should never be anywhere near the positions they hold. We have bad people because the job is a shit job to have. So, shitty people run for office. I mean Devin Nunes is a guy I knew nothing about then you hear him speak and you realize "Oh my god, this man is so damn dumb how did people ever vote for him?"
How do people vote for a Ted Cruz?
I mean, I understand the vote for Trump in 2016, they were more voting against something than for someone. That at least had some sort of reasoning behind it but wow, so many of these guys if you hear them speak you think "This person belongs nowhere near any elected office."
I mean I think it comes down to voters being so poorly informed or intentionally misinformed that they have no idea who they are casting votes for. That's a tragedy and we are living the results.
