Icon Two fine docs on A. Prime - "Camp Hollywood" and "Hit So Hard".....

Watched two excellent documentaries on Amazon Prime tonight.

One was called Camp Hollywood (2004) and the other Hit So Hard (2011).

Camp Hollywood is about a hotel in Hollywood where large numbers of Canadians stay while trying to make it big in Hollywood.  Some of the actors/musicians will be familiar.  It's really a quirky, enjoyable documentary profiling some interesting people.

The other was Hit So Hard and was a documentary on Patty Schemel, the drummer to the grunge rock band Hole.  The documentary is about the rise of Hole and Schemel's battle with substance abuse.  All through it, you root so hard for her to make it and grow disgusted with people like Courtney Love and her bandmates when it came to this woman's troubles (it was heartbreaking listening to Schemel talk about her hitting the bottom).   With that, it's not a completely depressing documentary and is uplifting.

I'm going to read Schemel's autobiography of the same name to learn more about her path.
