I think you are way off on the corruption thing on Joe Biden but...and this is huge...the perception of corruption is just as harmful to him as if he were actually corrupt. This makes him a huge risk to run against Trump who will blast him as corrupt and sadly many people believe this and/or just don't have any idea what the Hunter Biden thing is all about. Biden has done an awful job handling the talk about his son. Biden also has seemed a shaky candidate throughout this process often lying/exaggerating either intentionally or because his memory is shot and this is why I think he is not the guy they should be backing.
Biden is well liked inside the party but not a good candidate to defeat Trump.
