I remember welcome to the boomtown way back. Never liked it when it was on the radio. Kravitz started talking to me about David Baerwald all the time and I was like "yeah, yeah". During this I had the opportunity to interview Richard Buskin, the author of the unauthorize Sheryl Crow bio and I became curious about DB.Then Kravitz gave me a copy of "triage" and I was immediately taken with the lyrics. I am a huge fan of lyrics that are cleverly written such as Steely Dan, Jethro Tull,Be Bop Deluxe/Bill Nelson and some eras of Pink Floyd, so David's words were a pefect fit for me. This experience caused me to go back and give Boomtown another listen since I had never noticed the words before. The music is phenomenal to be sure, but it was the words that first attracted me.Needless to say, Boomtown sounded much better the second time :)
