I have a friend that has a nice home and horses. She and her husband recently invested in solar panels and she has been telling me about their savings and how they are in the "black" when it comes to their electrical bills (now, I haven't asked her about the investment cost or upkeep cost).
But this is what really baffles me - how Dems need to push energy companies to invest in green energy and make it affordable to regular people while focusing on the saved money WILL be spent SOMEWHERE.
Americans are horrible savers and will blow any money that would have been spent on electrical costs and what better place would that be than that of blowing that money on the everyday shit that Americans love to buy?
I would love to see a push by Democrats to "put solar panels on every roof in America." Hell, this would even be a hammer to get these energy companies to invest in other forms of energy delivery.
On top of this, I don't have a Dyson fan, but this is something else for Dems to consider - figuring out a way to capture wind energy without a huge "fan."
There are so many things the Dems could throw out there but seem to just ignore. For example, in this time of COVID when children are remaining at home longer and even moving back, why not extend the age on the Child Tax Credit? The Child Tax Credit stops when the child hits 17 (and regardless of the time of year - when that child hits 17, even on Dec 31, that tax credit ends).
It is like years ago when the REPUBLICANS pushed through additional tax deductions on mortgages (I think it was for the PMI on the mortgage).
You know, here is another one that is geared toward public safety retirees - we get a 3k tax credit for health insurance. Why only for public safety retirees (well, I know why - a good PR stunt) and why only for 3k?
It's like the Dems are so good at really missing good pocket book items for real people.
