On the good side, once Trump has lost in such a significant race, his stock starts to falter.  He's probably too old to mount a challenge in four years, and the Republicans may not let him anyway.  Surely, some "me too" candidate (no pun intended there) will try to adopt a similar approach, but I'm not at all sure that any other person would be able to carry that off - or would be allowed to be that insulting without it seeming like an obvious affectation.  

But it will take a while (years?) to get past the mindf#$% that Trump did on the populace.  Saw someone on CNN speculating that it is is a problem that Democrats seem to have lost the "working man."  I would agree.  But a lot of that goes back to the inherently skeptical and anti-intellectual streak that has a deep root in American society.  It's a giant "own goal" for us.
