Well, as far as Trump's appeal to the working class what he did was appeal to their fears, hate, and anger. Carlson is quite good at that. Tucker is also a racist so he's got that box checked as well. He's a better speaker than Trump, smarter than Trump, and has a truly destructive agenda...just like Trump. Yes, he is a prissy little whiney baby, but Trump is the world's biggest whiney baby and the wacko right ate that up with a spoon. They love that. Tucker is well known to them, he loves whispering bullshit in their ears, and they love that. Also while Carlson has spent years lying to working class voters and filling their heads with nonsense, obviously 71 million people love being lied to, he does not have Trump's track record of pissing on the working class every chance he gets. So, in some ways that makes Carlson an even bigger and better grenade to throw.
Pair him with Nikki Haley and I think you've got a racist, lunatic, ticket that will spew hate and promise destruction and they would take that old constitution that Trump spent four years wiping his ass with and burn it on the White House lawn as their first act. Carlson is quite prepared to destroy other Republicans in a debate, not so much in Trump's stupid and playground insult way, but he would probably run circles around them because he is a professional public speaker that knows how to appeal to the fear and anger in people.
Trump proved something to people like Tucker, there are some 71 million people that like fascism and do not care nor even want to bother understanding what a democracy is or the value of preserving one...they want boots on the throats of the people they don't like. They don't care how you do it, they don't care about laws or rules or norms, they just want to see the people they hate suffer...does not matter if they are man, woman, or child. Crush them, kill them, humiliate them and they will cheer for you. This is the legacy of Donald Trump.
The Murdoch family will throw their full weight behind Carlson because they like having someone hold the presidency that they have full access to and the ability to shape policy. Trump worshipped the Murdochs and desperately wanted back on TV, the Murdoch's made Carlson. So, expect quite a sales pitch for Tucker if/when he runs. I expect him to be out there in 2024 because Trump opened the door and created all new precedents for presidential behavior that has that wacko right salivating to get back in there. Trump brought us the president that is above the law, answers to no one, is not responsible to anyone and acts only in his own interests. This was somehow accepted by that 71 million.
I don't think Trump will run again in 2024 particularly if he gets some sort of TV venture off the ground. This is his dream. He wants to spew lies and nonsense on TV, enrage and confuse the public, create absolute chaos, be a Republican kingmaker bestowing his blessings on the candidates he wants to use, and burying others. My guess would be he will also back Carlson.
At the moment Trump is just looking for ways to weaponize and monetize his loss to con his supporters into giving him cash and keeping them watching him. He is not dragging this out because he thinks he can win, he is refusing to concede because he thinks this can make him some cash.
In terms of what Biden will do and if he will shift left and embrace the progressives...I'd say no way. Pointlessly, people worried about if Sanders was the candidate Trump and Republicans would go over the top calling him a "socialist"...ha, well they labeled both Biden and Harris and the entire Democratic party socialists anyway. Hell, they claim Harris is the most far left politician in DC and she is maybe slightly left of the center right Biden. We could not have ended up with a more middle of the road couple of candidates.
