Coming from me, this might sound surprising, but that invading mob surely believes they are on the right side of a very righteous cause. And individually, I would imagine most of them would be good neighbors, keep tidy lawns, and love their kids. But their minds have been highjacked by horribly wrong and dangerous ideas. I would bet they read little, and their information diet is severely restricted to right-wing media, so their perspective has been severely warped. Garbage in, garbage out.  Throw in an incredibly manipulative demagogue who plays on their fear of cultural and economic change, and they have a tribe to join, and  someone to rally around in an almost messianic way. They're in the cult and of course, they don't know they're in the cult. How do we deprogram millions of them?
