The call did little to change the minds of elected Republicans that are cultists. The call served as a halftime speech to get them riled up. They were plunging headfirst into destroying our republic on the 6th. In fact that movement was just gaining momentum and adding additional politicians signing on possibly swelling to more than 160 supporters in the Senate and House. 

The riot that Trump, Hawley, Cruz and others egged on was all that slowed the roll of turning the vote certification into an utter shit show. Well, and Pence held his ground and parted ways with Trump. In fact Pence ended up improving his stock because he not only split from Donny he also acted as the leader of the country while Trump sat watching TV cheering the rioters. Trump's delight in the riot was what caused several people in his administration to resign and to threaten to resign. 

One good thing that happened as a result is the riot seemed to disgust a lot of people including perhaps some cultists. It did cause at least 8 senators to jump ship from the effort to object to Biden's victory and a very small handful of congressmen. For the most part though, Republicans in the House went on to leave no doubt they are mostly a criminal group that despise our country and no longer want us to have a democratic republic.

It also seemed at least to some extent that the Republicans outside the Trump cult would like to hold Ted Cruz (who almost none of them like anyway) and Josh Hawley (who is just a nasty little opportunist) accountable for the mayhem they took part in causing. This would obviously just be an attempt to cover their own asses by making Cruz and Hawley the primary scapegoats but hey, if both are removed from their positions it would be a fair and just result of their actions. Four people died in that mess yesterday and many more were injured. Trump, Hawley, and Cruz are all responsible.
