I hear you, Ross. I'm so sick of bad faith actors trying to twist the narrative to suit their interest group's needs. It should be about establishing the facts, and dealing with them properly, so we can reduce such tragic events. Good liberals have to call out illiberal liberals, and the same should go on the right. The commitment has to be to the truth, and if your side is the loser in a given situation, so be it!! 

I know that within my circle of largely liberal friends and relations, there is a reluctance to really seek an objective reality. It's all about maintaining a comfortable narrative, lest you have to question long-held views. It's all so cowardly!
