Sam Harris has long complained about Salon misrepresenting him and taking quotes out of context. All I can tell you is that I have spent at least one thousand hours listening to Sam Harris and reading his books. I even saw him in Boston.  He simply isn't the guy that's portrayed here. As I've said before, Sam is fearless, and on occasion, he's more than happy to push back on liberal orthodoxy when he feels the need.   I've taken to listening to Michael Shermer, founder of Skeptic Magazine, and he is also misrepresented. These guys absolutely despise Trump and all that he stands for!  Sam has spent countless hours bashing Trump and his ignorant pack. Sam and Michael are old-school liberals who are willing to push back against the far-left, the censorious, illiberal, non-reality based woke types and I am too. Having said that, I'm well aware that our country's greatest threat comes from the GOP and their sick devotion to Trump, and the existential threat that he poses to American democracy.  If some on the right occasionally align with Sam and Michael, then they surely are overlooking the fact that both guys are pro-gay rights, pro-choice, against the death penalty, scared shitless about climate change, in favor of higher taxes on the rich and a strengthened social safety net, in favor of church-state separation, etc. etc. etc. I'd wager that these guys are with you, Dan, 95% of the time.  Okay, I'm off the soapbox, Dan.
