Well, hate is really just the other half of love, right?
There are a lot of thems and while I don't blame David for heading off into them thar hills, well, this is now a pretty peaceful part of the interwebs. It's better than facebook, which I guess is getting a name change and facelift soon. I can't really go on facebook because it depresses me. Some people that I went to high school with have found me on there and one is a woman I was pretty good friends with back then. She has somehow turned out to be a full on QAnon wacko and I just can't get my mind around that. Since Biden was elected she seems to be growing even more and more insane, if you can imagine that, and I feel like at some point she will end up on the news. She has already been arrested once for throwing a tantrum at an ice cream stand over being told she had to wear a mask there. She was quite proud of that arrest.
So, going on facebook created this issue for me where I could not decide if I should try to talk this woman, that I have not seen in over 30 years, to at least attempt to check to see if she was alright. One old high school friend of mine offered to go visit her with me, I think mostly because he wants to hit on her as she is single and has aged wonderfully, but another warned me off of that as he used to regularly have lunch with her until he revealed to her he felt the stuff she was ranting about made no sense. He said she is even more wacky in person than she is on the internet.
I picture her sitting in her house with an AR-15 in her lap waiting for Democrats or someone with a vaccine to breakdown her door at which point she would "take them out" as she believes this would be the patriotic thing to do.
It's so goddamn weird. When I knew her she was this quiet, kind, young woman heavily into arts and crafts and worked at a fabric store. She was funny and intelligent and just really into making things. I recall her getting excited about new fabrics she would find and new things she discovered she could make.
Now half her facebook posts have someone pointing a gun at someone or directly into the camera, and she thinks half of the planet is out to kill her, and seems to be indicating she thinks she has to get them first. She once complained about her dating life saying something along the lines of most men she meets are pussies that don't share her beliefs.
I asked my friend that appears to have an interest in dating her how he was going to approach that. He said "I'll wear a gun and say that anybody that tries to vaccinate me won't live long enough to pick up the syringe." and I sighed and said "Yeah, that might work."
