Marc here.  March 19.  I am curious to know how the conversation went though.

Let me first say there are crazies on both sides IMO. I personally don't subscribe to elements on the right that your friend seems to, I amnot a member of the Qanon or proud by factions and don't like those elements of I guess you'd say our side. I am way more of a centrist and have beliefs from both sides but there has to be a balance through dialogue and you are one of the rare ones that will do that. I don't like to fight. But I am pretty well trained if it is absolutely necessary though. I just think people need to keep their heads together and work with one another and make life better for everyone. There will always be complainers though. I am not one of them myself.
