Every time one of the women there that night moved in to embrace me the kilt wearing bass player for the band would turn and point his bass at her as if it were some sort of wood stake shooting vampire skewering gun...he looked quite tense and a few times jumped off stage as if he were looking for a better view of where I was.
As I was leaving strolling through the dark parking lot he appeared out of the gloom and walked past me saying in a deep Irish brogue "Mickey says dia dhuit." which took me by surprise.
I found myself replying without thinking "Dia is Muire dhuit." and he gave me a nod as he vanished into the darkness.
