As a follow-up here is Van a few nights after I saw him playing the opener of the show, Dangerous, one of the songs off one of his recent records and he elevates the song into a much more funky version than he delivered on the record. This was the same song he opened with the night I saw him and he was a little Irish funk machine giving one of the best shows I've seen him do in years. He looks a like he has dropped several pounds, was more animated and nearly broke out a few dance moves but he was wiggling with the grooves his band kicked up. He even laughed a few times.
