Sorry to hear about that, Ross, but wish you the best on a full recovery and glad to hear you have family around to go through it with. Get well, that seems a lot to have to have gone through.

On Biden, I think he is likely a one term president. At the moment, I have serious doubts about him both running for and certainly winning a second term right now. I do not think Harris runs if he does not because I just don't think the Democrats want to do that. I think they are weighing their options.

My bet is (and has been for a while) it will be DeSantis on the Republican side because while the party and the media has put up with all the Trump crap, so many of his endorsed candidates losing is not sitting well with the party nor their media propaganda outlets. The Murdochs appear to be endorsing DeSantis on FOX and in the newspapers he owns. Republicans are calling DeSantis the new leader of the party. Which is making it appear they are moving to cut off Trump. The RNC has already refused to pay Trump's legal bills if he runs again. Which I believe is a message to Trump that they don't want him. All the people that Trump needs backing him are gushing about Ron DeSantis. They might tolerate coups, attempts to destroy democracy, and stealing top secret information but they won't tolerate losing, because they want power, and Trump has been on a losing streak pretty much since he won the presidency. The losses that piled up in this midterm election were on him. He ran around doing supposed rallies for other candidates but talked only about himself, and kept all the money that they picked up fundraising. He never used that to back other candidates. The Republican brain trust knows he is not the guy they want running. It's basically deal cutting time for Trump. I still think Trump will announce he is running on the 15th. He wants Kari Lake to be his VP. I think the writing is on the wall that is a loser ticket. I think maybe the only ticket Biden could beat.

If DeSantis runs against Biden, he probably beats him. I don't think people should cast a vote for DeSantis what he did in Florida during the pandemic essentially amounted to slaughtering his own constituents. Then he wanted to have people arrested that told the truth about what he was doing. That is some hideous stuff that serves as a clear warning this guy does not belong in politics. Sadly, I think Biden has almost no chance to beat DeSantis and neither would Harris.

The Democrats need to run someone else in 2024, I believe, and the first choice seems to be Gavin Newsom. The other guy I really like is Josh Shapiro the new Pennsylvania governor. One of these two or the two of them on a ticket may be enough to wipe out DeSantis, whose popularity is based upon the complete garbage he has pulled in Florida. However, I think the Republican party is locked in on DeSantis now and he is going to be their guy. They just need to find the path to dispose of the Donald, which I believe they are hoping is helped by him being done in by his many legal problems.
