The list of songs were just ones that quickly occurred to me. When you mentioned what you wanted to hear, I thought, that's the stuff I love as well. Lots of songs that combine organ and a guitar and often horns. Anyway, I love a band that has these, particularly as a live band. Van Morrison's various touring units always have this combination. He was particularly deep into these funky grooves the last time I saw him, at Tanglewood, and man that was fun.
This will be my first Bruce show. I wish I had seen him back in the 1980s. I had a look at some clips on Youtube of this current tour and he looks just fine but he is not racing around the stage anymore. Which I am fine with, as the music and how he and his band perform it is the main thing for me. I was not planning on going and did not even know he was coming until I got a text message on the 9th that "We're going to Springsteen on the 20th."
One of the high school friends I am seeing this weekend, added Springsteen to top the weekend off on Monday. I was more than mildly surprised and was told I could not say no. So, if Bruce and company are up for it, so am I. He's bringing his daughter because he wants her to see Bruce as well.
Anyway, I have a feeling it will be an all day kind of deal as he told me to take the day off of work and be ready early. So, I'll probably be in Boston for the day.
Hopefully, by the 20th the band is back at full strength.
