I just think that the notion that Israel could in any way weather the international reaction to the unabashed and public murder of 2 million civilians is unrealistic.
Lord knows I'm always surprised by the perfidy of man, particularly when there are so many other options available to us, but even by the atavistic standards of this era, blatant genocide? One thing I noticed about Zeihan back in the day is that he seems to chronically forget that actions cause reactions—for instance, if (which isn't true) the US Navy had forsaken the protection of shipping lanes from piracy and the like that the rest of the world would just say, "oh well, no more shipping." That's just one example, but there are many.
