his songs, his drop-dead good looks, his evocative vocals, his world-weary, but always dead-on analysis of geopolitics, and his criticism of tyrants of all stripes,  but today I come to add to the list...his ridiculously powerful and instructive metaphors! Where the hell do you come up with them? Are they bubbling up from who knows where as you type away? Are all singer-songwriters of a certain stature gifted a book of them based upon a secret poll of industry bigwigs?
