Mick, if Trump wins it will mark the beginning of one of the darkest periods in the very dark history of the world. He and the army of fascists behind him have made their intentions clear. You think it's bad now? You think Biden is bad? You have seen nothing yet. NOTHING.

As Steve Bannon put it a few days ago, "Trump is a moderate in our movement." A Trump White House would empower the fascists rising all around the world, including in the US, and there would be little to stop them. An early Japanese fascist leader named Toyama Mitsuru had a motto on his quest to eliminate democracy in Japan. His motto? "When you see a brave man, kill him, for then you will silence a thousand cowards." This would become a familiar idea to us, as brave voices are silenced, one by one, and replaced with cowards, liars, and propagandists.

Who would likely pay first? Well, the first group would be Ukrainians and Palestinians, who would be wiped out. An unrestrained Netanyahu and Putin would kill first, apologize never.

NATO would likely be forced to get involved in Ukraine. Putin cannot defeat NATO in conventional war, but he could turn Ukraine into a cinder, and he would be sorely tempted to do so.

Europe's civil population would splinter under the pressures of the new horror. Friendships, families would dissolve in rage. Brother would kill brother. Protests would turn very violent, and the police response to them even more so.

This relatively civilized discussion you and I are having would seem very quaint.  In the Middle East, war would spread—Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon/Iran, their citizens would demand action, their leaders would be forced to attack, to live up to their rhetoric.

Civil disobedience in Israel would end, as the country mobilizes against an existential threat. What few democratic restraints on the Netanyahu-ites remaining would vanish.

Israel has 400+ active nuclear weapons and a government largely composed of, on one hand, religious fanatics who welcome the thought of an apocalyptic Final Battle; and on another, gangsters and fascists, who just don't care either way. What do you think would happen if they were fighting an all-out war on three borders?

In the US, simultaneously to that would come the demise of people you wouldn't mourn—prominent, privileged opponents of Trump/Bannonism. People in expensive suits—Generals, Jack Smith, Fani Willis, etc... You may not even know who these people are, but they are trying to save your bacon, and mine too.

I mentioned to you recently the absence of a Joint Chiefs of Staff, to which you understandably replied 'who cares about Generals, they're all psycho?' But the likely reason that Tuberville is preventing those appointments is so that in the case of a Trump victory there would be no professional restraint on the White House.

No one to prevent the Trump/Bannonites from using the military on US citizens, from empowering the so-called Constitutional Sheriffs and Nazi groups who have so successfully infiltrated law enforcement in the US. No one to prevent the use of nuclear or biological weapons. These Bannonites could, and would move with blinding haste. They have created the infrastructure to do it.

Hot on the heels of those victims would be millions of Latinos in this country, along with the homeless and the protesters, hauled off to what would ultimately become de facto slave camps.

Next, women. The tenuous restraints against the Christo-fascists in the Supreme Court would be gone, and the Christo-fascists would double, quadruple, octuple down on the war against women.

I'm going to leave you with some questions. Do you honestly believe that you're the only one who sees what's happening in Gaza? The only one who grieves the deaths of murdered children? The only one who wants to scream about the grinding, relentless horror of this moment? The only one who sees it? Do you think I don't?
