I also just read that Pence actually DID NOT intend to go to Congress on Jan 6 which is why on Jan 5 Grassley said that he would be presiding the next day. Evidently, Pence's Marine son told his Dad he better do his job and preside over the Joint session of Congress for the counting of the Electoral ballots on J6. I guess Quayle saying Pence couldn't do anything swayed Pence to attend on J6 as well.
That's interesting because he has always said he always intended to go.
